One only has to review September 18 2018 Mahtomedi City Council Minutes to realize the Grant City Council Majority of Mayor Huber, Councilmen Kaup and Carr along with Planning Commissioners Majority Rog, Giefer, Tufty, and Helander participate in backdoor deals. Powerpoint presentation by Mahtomedi Planning Commissioner, Alex Rogosheske and organizer of Rinc 2 will show that the fix is in.

*Page 18 shows in bold type the commitment to approve Ice Arena from city council majority Huber, Carr, and Kaup to approve Ice Arena without a Environmental Impact Statement . Concerns overlooked in the Environmental Assessment Worksheet were ignored.

*Page 10 will show that the Ice Arena to be built on a toxic dump site will be provided with Grant Public Sewer and Water. This requires the City of Mahtomedi to amend its current Comprehensive Plan to extend Met Council Sewer and Water into the City of Grant. One only needs to look into neighboring Lake Elmo to understand the impact of Met Council in Grant. Mayor Jeff Huber rejected a proposal to allow Rinc 2 to be built on private donated property south of the public school district property. Majority Grant City Council and Planning Commissioners favor placing the Ice Arena, owned by a Corporate LLC on public school district property to avoid paying any taxes in the City of Grant. If this ice arena fails as many do the taxpayers in the Mahtomedi School District will be left for the cost and maintenance. With a 80 million dollar debt, why is Mahtomedi School District offering a private business public school property lease at minimal cost putting the taxpayers at risk?

If this ice arena fails as many do the taxpayers in the Mahtomedi School District will be left for the cost and maintenance . After disbanding the planning commission in February 2013 Huber and Carr formed a new planning commissioner appointing Kaup, Rog, Giefer, Helander and Tufty to review and rewrite or cities comprehensive plan without allowing a citizen steering group use of town hall to offer input. Under this leadership the citizens of Grant are no longer allowed use of town hall, video taping of pubic comment discontinued, the right to assemble and speak, without the threat of arrest, have been restricted. It appears that Mayor Jeff Huber supports Rog and Giefer to offer relief for Denny Kaup who seconds majority of all resolutions and motions made by Huber. A vote for team Huber, Rog and Giefer will ensure that the minority voice in Grant will never be heard, open meeting violations will continue and rules of order abused.
